Chris Green · Composer · Guitarist · Founder, Khaos AI

Industrialise the tools, not the artists.

Chris Green is a British composer with twenty years in the music industry, from AAA game soundtracks to the Houses of Parliament. He speaks on artist-owned AI, consent and attribution, and what the AI era owes the people whose work it is built on.

The Argument

Most of the AI music conversation is reactive. Chris brings a working alternative: consented, artist-owned, locally run, built in the UK with a UK university and the UK’s own rights infrastructure.

He argues that “preserving the emotional core” of creative work means preserving the human and their agency, not a separable stylistic layer. Brand-safe must mean rights-safe. And the same movement extends beyond music, to art, photography, code, anything with IP attached.

Speaking Topics

Four conversations worth having.

Artist-owned AI

Why the answer to extractive AI is not resistance but ownership. What it takes for a musician to train, own, and profit from a model built on their own work.

Consent, attribution, provenance

The infrastructure the creative industries actually need, and why rights-clean AI is the only kind with a long-term business model.

The economics of music in the AI era

From streaming’s fractions of a penny to generative platforms trained on unlicensed catalogues. What fair economics look like, with real numbers.

Creative IP and policy

From Parliament roundtables to industry partnerships. Where UK and EU regulation is heading, and how creators and companies get ahead of it.

The Record

The credential is the work.

Chris has spent twenty years as a working composer and rights holder. He is the guitarist and composer with Port Sulphur Band, behind the soundtrack to Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown, and his composing work spans AAA games and global campaigns.

He advocates on creators’ rights, including at Houses of Parliament roundtables on AI policy, and sits on PCAM, the association for professional composers in media. He speaks not as a commentator on the industry, but from inside it.

Khaos

AI owned by the many, not by the few.

Chris is the founder of Khaos, a free, open-source toolkit that lets a musician train an AI model on their own catalogue, locally, on hardware they already own. The artist owns the resulting model outright, and every output carries attribution back to the named artist.
